Tuesday 7th December – School Concert
We were invited to attend the Warneford School concert. It was well done and the children showed us a mixed range of talent with singing, instrument playing and dancing. A buffet was served and all those attending were given a Christmas card made by the children and a small gift. We were pleased to be invited.
Tuesday 14th December – Christmas Lunch
Our Christmas Lunch was held at the Kingsdown Inn followed by musical entertainment by Ken & Steve which was very enjoyable and made it great afternoon entertainment. We held our Christmas raffle with good prizes on offer for members to choose from. The draw was made to pick the winner of the Swindon Town football, signed by all the team players. The winner was Jodie Turner, yellow ticket number 522.
Thursday 16th December – School Concert
We were entertained by the South Marston Primary School children. They put on a delightful show for us and the effort was most appreciated by all. Following the concert we were served refreshments by staff and helpers. Thanks to all who made the afternoon enjoyable for us.
Tuesday 11th January. Our first event of the 2011 programme was a talk by Richard Gowshall on the topic “A day in the life of a Swindon vet”. Richard presented a slide show and talked about the slides giving information on the work the practice does with funny stories and some hilarious comments people make when using incorrect words or misunderstanding the problem they are trying to convey.
