Auction raises new record amount

The Auction of Promises, held at South Marston Hotel last night managed to raise over £1500 pounds for the Tot’s n Toddlers group, South Marston School and South Marston Village Hall.

Many gifts were donated for the auction. The gifts on offer meant that there was something for everyone, including: Ironing Services, Golf lessons with a professional, Childrens Birthday cakes, Free meals at the Bank and Carriers Arms, paintings, elephants and airplane flights.

The top selling item of the evening was a Football shirt signed by Cristiano Ronaldo, which went for £170.

The evening was well attended with at least £50 villagers attending.

Praise must go to Rachel Case for organising the event as well as the auctioneers for the evening, ‘David Dickinson’ and ‘Tim Wonnacott’, aka Ben and Lionel.
