New Parish Councillor

After receiving a fair number of applications in response to the recent Par-ish Councillor vacancy, interviews were held at the beginning of August with the preferred candidate, Jill Little being recommended to the full Parish Council and appointed at the Parish Council meeting held on Tuesday 16th August.

The Parish Council would like to welcome Jill to the team and wish her every success in her new role.

Parish Council Internal Audit

The Parish Council internal audit has been completed for the financial year 2010-11. The Annual Return has now been sent to our external auditors. We are currently awaiting the outcome and will report on this in the next issue of the Tower & Tap.

Parish Council Meetings

Members of the public are welcome to attend Parish Council meetings which are held on the third Tuesday of the month, at 7.30pm in the Village Hall. There is an “Open 10 Minutes” section at the start of the meeting where you are invited to ask questions or discuss an agenda item. It would be helpful if you could inform the Chairman at the start of the meet-ing of any items that you wish to raise or discuss. All agendas are pub-lished on the village website and on the village notice boards, prior to the meetings.

  1. Congratulations to Jill on her appointment, I know she is passionate about preserving the character of the village, I hope her passion with be accompanied by pragmatism. In my short time on the PC I learnt that there are always wider considerations.
