The Community Speedwatch scheme run by the Swindon Borough Council gives local people the chance to be actively involved in making South Marston’s roads safer for everyone in the village. It has been effective in Blunsdon in improving road safety. Residents, who are willing to volunteer a small amount of their time each week, now have the chance to help monitor speeds with state-of-the-art speed detection equipment on our roads. Volunteers will be trained on the use of the equipment.

See http://www.wiltshire.gov.uk/community-speedwatch-3.pdf for further details of the scheme.

We now need more volunteers to come forward for training. Please contact the village co-ordinator Tony Leathart
