We were sad to say goodbye to Gemma Cheal, our Parish Clerk, this month. Gemma has been keeping the Parish Councillors in order for the last three years. In addition to supporting the monthly meetings, Gemma has also been
the face of the Parish Council, providing a smiling and helpful point of contact to villagers who needed advice or wanted to raise an issue. The workload has been high over this period due to the challenges from the proposed
expansion of the village but Gemma’s support, guidance and sense of humour has been a great help in progressing plans for the future of the village whilst, at the same time, dealing with the day to day problems.
Gemma will continue to be associated with the village in her role as clerk to the governor’s of South Marston School. We wish her and her family all the best for the future and good luck in her new role as Clerk to Covingham Parish Council, where she thinks there is a fighting chance of the monthly meetings finishing before ten o’clock!
