Many of you will have noticed that Paul, our village postman, has been off work since Christmas as he is waiting for a knee operaon. Robbie Taylor contacted Paul’s manager at the Royal Mail to send Paul our best wishes for a speedy return. Paul’s response is below:
‘I’d like to say a massive THANK YOU for the e-mail you sent to my managers as it was totally unexpected. It made me feel very emotional and proud as the last 3 months since I injured my knee have been very hard, as the longest I’ve ever been off work before was two weeks since I started work 30 years ago.
All I’ve ever done with my customers in South Marston the last 13 years is to treat them the way I would want my postman to treat me, so to get such a nice e-mail for just doing my job was a much needed boost. I always say at work that I’m very lucky to deliver to such a lovely village that is full of people that I can call friends as much as they are my customers, and would happily stay on my round till I retire.
The operation on my knee is not due to be done until April so unfortunately it will be a while till I get back to work but if you could kindly pass on a personal THANK YOU and say hello from me to anyone in the village I would really be grateful.’
Robbie has very kindly agreed to act as a collection point for any cards or messages you would like to pass on to Paul and can be contacted on 823757.
