A note on the HHT flyer

I note that a flyer has been delivered to households by a group of local residents. Whilst the Parish Council encourage residents to read the application at the Swindon Planning Portal, ref. S/OUT/13/1555 and to respond to the proposals, we had no part in its drafting. We recommend that villagers follow the advice of the Borough and either respond online via or in writing to Mr Ed Snook, Planning Department,  Swindon Borough Council, SN1 2JH.

2 particular points on the flyer are inaccurate:

The Neighbourhood Plan does proposes a link road through the new dwellings both to relieve Pound Corner and to connect them with the expanded Village Centre and with each other. The issue is whether such a link should pass to the north of Manor Farm, as proposed in the Neighbourhood Plan, or to the south, as shown in the HHT application. This remains the main issue between us and HHT.

The plan shows a “Relocated School”. There is no such proposal. HHT say that if the current site could not be expanded to include an additional 1 form entry capacity, then they would build a separate 1 form entry school on the site shown in addition to the current 0.5 form entry school. Such an arrangement is not considered viable by the Borough’s education department.
