Community Payback

The Parish Council and South Marston Recreation Association would like to thank the Probation Service Community Payback Team for clearing ditches and litter picking on the playing field in February, as well as painting the metal container. The team worked very hard. We hope to use this worthwhile service again the future.

Parish Council News – June 2011

New Chairman

At the Parish Council AGM on 17th May, Mr Neil Burchell was elected as Chairman of South Marston Parish Council, with Mr Stuart Young remaining as Vice Chairman. The Parish Council thanked Mr Colin McEwen for all of his work and dedication as the previous Chairman for the last five years.

Allotment Update

The Clerk and the Parish Council Allotment Liaison have recently carried out an inspection of the allotments in South Marston. We are pleased to report that generally, the allotments are being maintained to a very good standard.

New Parish Clerk – Gemma Cheal

After a positive response to the advertisement of Clerk to the Parish Council, the appointment of Gemma Cheal was made at the Parish Council meeting on 20th July 2010. The Parish Council gave a fond farewell to Roger Powell who has served the Council for 6 years. Gemma is currently in the process of taking over the role from Roger.
