Rachel Golding Barrett from The Tetbury Flower Company

Rachel Golding Barrett from The Tetbury Flower CompanyIn this informative and relaxed talk, Rachel Golding Barrett will take you through a year on a working flower farm, from the first sowings of spring to the abundance of summer and autumn and the winter clear up. Along the way, she will share practical growing tips, site and bed preparation and seasonal insights, as well as a glimpse behind the scenes of preparing plants and displays for Royal Horticultural Society shows such as RHS Malvern and RHS Chelsea. Throughout, she will offer plenty of encouragement for anyone interested in growing cut flowers at home.

Rachel runs The Tetbury Flower Company, a flower farm in the South Cotswolds growing British seasonal cut flowers. Energised by unprecedented demand for British flowers, the business has grown into a busy flower farm producing spring tulips, summer cut flowers and thousands of dahlias each year for cutting, plant sales, events and RHS shows. Rachel is an RHS medal winner, and alongside growing and propagating dahlia plants on her nursery, she hosts ‘Cut Your Own’ days and flower workshops, and writes a weekly publication, the Dahlia Diaries, which has now attracted a global readership. She is passionate about sharing practical, down-to-earth growing advice and encouraging others to grow cut flowers at home, whether they have a large garden or just a few pots.

Rachel will also be bringing dahlia plants for sale.
