St Mary Magdalene Church of England

St Mary Magdalene Church is part of the Stratton Team Ministry, together with St Margaret’s Church in Lower Stratton and St Leonard’s in Stanton Fitzwarren.
The Church organises a monthly Community Coffee Morning in the village hall – an opportunity to meet old and new friends over a cup of tea, cake and a bacon sandwich on each second Saturday of the month from 10am. New faces are very welcome.

School

South Marston Church of England Primary School

South Marston CE Primary School is a half form entry primary school, which opened to children of the community in 1873. We serve pupils aged 3-11 as well as offering Pre-School places.


Pubs

The two pubs within the village are currently closed. Though they are due to re-open, watch this space.

The Carpenters Arms

The Carpenters Arms is on Old Vicarage Lane towards the A420. Currently closed due to the road closures for the construction works for the new developments in the village. It is due to re-open in 2027.

Carrier Arms

The Carrier Arms is in the centre of the village. It is currently closed, though due to re-open in the near future.
