Stewart Linford

Stewart LinfordStep back in time with master storyteller Stewart Linford as he takes us deep into the heart of England’s Victorian woodlands.

In this fascinating and visually rich talk, Stewart uses historic images and authentic props to bring to life the once-thriving industries hidden within our native forests up to 200 years ago.

Discover the forgotten world of charcoal burners, chair-makers, and the legendary ‘Bodgers’ of the Chiltern beech woods. With a compelling mix of history and personal insight, Stewart – himself an ancient woodland owner and custodian – shares his knowledge of traditional practices like coppicing, woodland regeneration, and sustainable tree planting.

Informative, inspiring, and highly entertaining, this is a rare glimpse into a vanished
world and a timely reminder of the value of preserving our natural heritage.
