The South Marston Dig
During the evening, there will be a dedicated session run by MOLA (the Museum of London Archaeology). This is the team that has spent the last few months excavating the marshlands south of the village prior to construction of the housing developments.
From 6.30-7.30pm, they will be hosting a sit-down presentation for residents about what they have done and what’s been found so far. This is a taster session for a planned ‘archaeology evening’ to be held in the Village Hall at a later date when the dig is completed, probably later in the spring.
Traffic Matters
The drop-in session is being used to update residents on progress with the long-awaited ‘traffic calming’ in the central village area, as well as other changes such as the extension of the 30 mph limits towards the A420 and forthcoming road closures.
In addition, the latest plans for Crown Timber will provide the long-awaited footway from the village to the Keypoint bridleway, but we can’t yet say when construction will commence.
