Robberies around Nightingale Wood

The Wiltshire and Gloscestershire Standard ran the following article regarding robberies in the area:

DRIVERS visiting beauty spots in the Cotswolds are being urged to be careful with their belongings after a spate of thefts from cars.

Over the past two weekends six cars were broken into at Riverside Car Park, Lechlade and Nightingale Woods, South Marston.

Thieves smashed car windows and took items on display, including handbags.

Police have urged drivers to hide any items in the boot or glove compartment of their car while parked, or to leave them at home where possible.

Wiltshire Police have asked anyone seeing any suspicious persons or vehicles in these areas to call them on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0845 555 111.

What will South Marston look like in 2015?

Swindon Borough Council are holding an exhibition that sets out their vision for the Borough for the next 20 years. The draft of the “Core Strategy” covers subjects important to all of us, such as :-

  • The expansion of South Marston
  • 2000 new homes next to Nightingale Wood
  • Traffic plans and relief roads
  • A major shopping and office centre South of the A420
  • New Schools
  • Flooding issues
  • Potential sites for wind turbines.
