This edition’s cover highlights the reopening of The Carriers Arms following an extensive refurbishment, made possible through the commitment of its new owner and a dedicated team. The pub now serves as a warm and welcoming focal point for the village, with plans for future events already underway.
The community continues to grow, with new families settling into Hammerman Way and becoming active participants in village life.
It has also been a successful summer for local groups and the community. South Marston Gardening Club’s Annual Flower and Produce Show showcased notable achievements despite challenging growing conditions. Residents came together once again for the Summer Fete and enjoyed another well‑attended ‘Party in the Park’. See pages 11-14 for the 4-page ‘pull-out’ supplement on the Fete/Party in the Park.
Across the village, improvements and developments continue. This month sees the introduction of a 20mph traffic‑calming zone, alongside ongoing work on new housing and road access.
The maintenance and enhancement of open spaces, the recreation ground, and village facilities remain shared priorities, supported by volunteers and community groups whose efforts help keep South Marston looking its best.
