Friendly Club

The Friendly Club has resumed its meetings as from October in the village hall.
This group is for people aged 50 and over who live in the local communities.
An opportunity for a social event on the second Tuesday afternoon each month. Outings are organised during the summer and at Christmas.

Gardening Club

A small friendly group of members from in and around the village, who get together to share their passion for all things horticultural through our annual program of activities.

Tots & Toddlers

Wednesday mornings 9–11am during school term time at the Village Hall. Carers and children under 5 come to play and chat.
£2 per family which includes a snack and craft activity for each child as well as tea, coffee and biscuits for the adults!

SMRA

The South Marston Recreation Association is a local charity providing recreation facilities for South Marston. Committee volunteers manage the Recreation Ground for the Parish Council and are responsible for providing the toddlers’ and children’s play area and equipment, the pavilion and football facilities, with the grass mown by volunteers. The committee form trustees of a separate charity for the Village Hall and manage the maintenance of this community building.

Open Spaces Volunteering

OSWG is a group of South Marston volunteers and parish councillors who, as a working party of the Parish Council, employ their skills and organisation to improve our open spaces and woodland. They look after most of our green spaces and run events for residents to benefit from our beautiful green surroundings including: St Julian’s Wood, Oxleaze Wood, the Village Garden and War Memorial, Orchard Meadow, and Oak Tree Corner.

Youth Club

We are in urgent need of adult help to get this popular club back on its feet. Volunteers required to help on a Friday fortnightly, 6.30pm to 8pm, helping set up the equipment, help when the session is in progress and assist with packing the equipment away.
The club is for children aged 8 to 16 years old who live in the village and/or attend South Marston School.

100 Club

A lottery draw run in the village by the SMRA to help fund its activities. A £12 per year subscription gives the opportunity to win monthly prizes of £10, a quarterly prize of £30 and an annual prize of £100.

Allotments

Managed by the Parish Council, over 60 plots are on the edge of the village heading north towards Highworth. With a little time and work, you could enjoy fresh air, get fitter and benefit from your own locally grown foods!

Litter Picking

A small group of volunteers spend a few hours a month collecting litter from around our village. The collection days are family orientated with all equipment provided.
