Nightingale Wood car park closure

Nightingale Wood car park closed

The car park in Nightingale Woods has been officially closed by   Forestry England.

The woodland is open, but to use it you will have to walk or cycle to it.

Forestry England COVID-19 notice

There are NO parking spaces along the single track Nightingale Lane leading to it. This Lane now only gives access to the three residential homes and Mitchy Motors together with the Thames Water pumping station.

Do NOT park along the lane as you will block the access to the above.

The only nearby parking spaces are the limited number in the Parish Council Car Park next door to the school.

Hopefully the car parking will be reopened when the COVID-19 Pandemic is safely over.

  5. Planning applications to be circulated, discussed and responded to as they are received
  6. Any decisions made to be formally recorded and ratified at the soonest available proper meeting

For any queries concerning these changes or any issues to be raised with the Council please contact the clerk –  or 01793 686150.

Kevin Morgan

Clerk to the Council

Planning Application – Nightingale Lane

An updated planning application (S/19/1245) was received last week for a proposed development off Nightingale Lane.

While this arrived too late to be included on the agenda for this week’s Parish Council meeting,  it was considered important enough to be discussed.

The Council has already responded and repeated its strong objection. Any residents who have also previously responded to the application are encouraged to do so again. The deadline for responses is 28th November.

Dogs on Recreation Ground

Concerns have been raised about the number of off-lead dogs on the recreation ground in the village.

The Council has discussed this and would like to remind members of the public that dogs should not be exercised off-lead there (as indicated by signs) and should also be deemed to be under control at all times.

Parish Clerk – Annual Leave

The Parish Clerk will be on leave from Monday 4th November and returns to work on Friday 8th November.

During this time calls made to the Parish phone number – 01793 686150 – will go to voicemail and be dealt with on the Clerk’s return.

Emails sent to will be screened by a Councillor and will be responded to if deemed urgent. Otherwise the Clerk will respond on his return.
