Our front page features the recent VE Day Celebration hosted by the Church. Village residents of all ages came together and enjoyed refreshments, model aeroplanes, VE displays, wartime music and a superb car from the 1930s.
With the village expansion development building work accelerating, a new dedicated information section on the website has been launched. The Parish Council Update also gives some background on the original ‘New Eastern Villages’ plans.
The continued and increasing amount of littering and fly-tipping in and around the village is highlighted by the litter-pick by volunteers, who were recently joined by Ward Councillors and some teenagers undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award.
Children from South Marston School have been learning about archaeology with the Museum of London Archaeology. In conjunction with school classroom visits, MOLA have been taking children to the excavation sites in the village and the discovery of an artefact was even witnessed.
