Happy New Year to all our readers from the Communications Working Group.
Our first edition of the year opens with the sound of church bells ringing across the village. 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the church’s six bells, and an appeal is made for donations to the bells restoration fund, along with new bellringers being sought.
A festive family cycle ride to and around Nightingale Woods proved very popular, with many requests for similar events—so watch this space.
There is also a report on the construction of the extension to the Bodleian Library’s storage facility just outside South Marston. Due to be completed in August this year, it will house materials from the History of Science Museum, the Museum of Natural History, the Pitt Rivers Museum, and the Ashmolean Museum.
