The major returfing and watering in 2 goalmouths on the Recreation Ground and minor repairs on the others by volunteers are concluding.
Informal and unauthorised training use by non-villagers has increased significantly because many other Swindon pitches now remove their goalposts during the summer months.
Two new recreational goal practice areas have been marked out behind goals on the small and large pitches to relieve the pressure on the repaired areas.
The goal guards allow the repaired areas to recover. Regular monitoring will determine as and when they are required if we are to provide a well-maintained facility for both paid-for and informal village use.
