Further Detailed Housing Plans Submitted 800 600 Editor

Following on from the publication of Taylor Wimpey proposals for 134 houses immediately south and opposite to Magdalene Close, a detailed application for 137 more houses have now been made by Vistry for their parcels further south towards the railway line. Both will be accessed using the new Hammerman Way road being built off Old Vicarage Lane.

The applications are available on the planning portal, references S/RES/24/0923 and S/RES/24/0947. Taylor Wimpey is in the early stages of planning an event in the Village Hall towards the end of the year. There is Swindon Advertiser article, Details revealed for 137 new houses on edge of Swindon, giving a full write up of Vistry’s application.

Both Taylor Wimpey and Vistry proposals follow on from Reserved Matters submissions made in line with the grant of outline permission for the village expansion. There has been significant debate between the developers and the Parish Council over the past few years to try and secure high quality development in a way that tackles flooding, pedestrian and cycle access and many other perennial issues that arise locally.
