Spring has arrived with snowdrops and daffodils brightening gardens and green spaces across the village. A free tree-pruning course for residents was recently held, funded through the ‘Planting Trees for Climate Change’ initiative, and another session is planned for June. Family-friendly volunteer events are also being organised in Oxleaze and St Julian’s Woods, offering opportunities to learn more about woodland ecosystems.
The latest ‘Have Your Say’ event presented detailed proposals for a new Village Centre, enhancements to the football pitch, and new transport access routes. Planning applications will be submitted soon, so please keep an eye out for information on how to share your views through the official consultation process.
Polling day for the ward and parish elections will take place on the 6th of May. South Marston will no longer form part of the larger Stratton St Margaret Ward and will instead become its own Borough ward, represented by a single councillor. Elections will also be held for South Marston Parish Councillors.
