We are aware of trenches being dug on the Recreation Ground – although this is part of the preparation work for the new Village Centre, it has taken place without due notice being given of the timing, the scale of the work or how invasive it would be.
Whereas backfilling has now been done, it has not left the main pitch in playable condition. The developers have been asked to ensure adequate reinstatement of the pitch surface is done to enable football to continue to the end of the season.
