Swindon Borough Council has announced that the White Hart Roundabout junction will be closed for through traffic for a period of around 12 weeks, with work expected to start on 16th August. This is to improve structure for the road base which has been found to be defective. There will be diversions in place but according to the announcement:
Traffic will still be able to use the junction to leave the A419 southbound to join the A420 eastbound, or to leave the A420 westbound to join the A419 southbound only.
This obviously adds to the ongoing traffic concerns that have already been recorded, with even more traffic likely to divert through the village unless measures are taken.
The Parish Council has again contacted our ward councillors and borough officers to highlight this additional problem and have asked for measures to be introduced that might alleviate the problems.
